Biography
Steve Samuelson is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 135 in Northampton County, including parts of Bethlehem. First elected in 1998 and taking office in 1999, he won his 13th term in November 2022 and currently serves as chair of the House Finance Committee. He is also Democratic Chairman of the House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee, prioritizing services for seniors, including annual assistance with over 900 property tax and rent rebate forms. Notable achievements include sponsoring 578 bills, such as co-authoring House Bill 1260 to expand PACENET prescription access for 20,000 more seniors and House Bill 2560 to boost rent rebates for 477,000 Pennsylvanians using COVID-19 relief funds. He has secured funding for Bethlehem projects like $30 million for Bethlehem Steel ruins renovation and grants for the National Museum of Industrial History. Samuelson advocates for environmental protection , government reform, redistricting, emission reductions, industrial cleanup, and clean water.

- Political Experience: Legislative aide and clerk to Lehigh County Commissioners ; legislative assistant to state Reps. Paul McHale and Karen Ritter; elected to PA House in 1998 .
