Biography
Steve Rawlings is a Republican state senator representing District 11 in the Kentucky Senate, covering northern and central Boone County. He resides in Burlington, Kentucky, and previously served in the Kentucky House from 2023-2024 before joining the Senate in 2025.
Education and Political Experience
Rawlings holds a JD and is an attorney by profession. He is a Christian and has received the Bureau of National Affairs Inc. Award for Superior Academic Excellence.
In the Senate, he serves as co-chair of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Education and is a member of the Interim Joint Committees on Appropriations and Revenue; Banking and Insurance; Education; Health Services; Local Government; and State Government. He also sits on the Judiciary Committee, Capital Planning Advisory Board, and the 2026–2028 Budget Preparation and Submission Statutory Committee.
Notable Achievements and Positions
Rawlings is involved with *USA Shooting * and *Merit Theatre Company *. In October 2025, he announced plans to file a bill designating October 14 as “Charlie Kirk Day” in Kentucky. He supports policies like giving local school boards more discretion in student disciplinary actions and campaigns as a "Constitutional Conservative."
