Biography
Steve Marshall
Steven Troy Marshall, born October 26, 1964, in Atmore, Alabama, is the 48th Attorney General of Alabama, serving since February 10, 2017. A Republican , he represents the state of Alabama. Appointed by Governor Robert Bentley to succeed Luther Strange, Marshall won full terms in 2018 and 2022. Prior to this, he served as District Attorney for Marshall County from 2001 to 2017, elected unopposed in 2004, 2010, and 2016. Notable achievements include founding the Marshall County Major Crimes Unit, Forensics Lab, and Crystal Meth Task Force; serving on the National District Attorneys Association Board of Directors; acting as special prosecutor in high-profile cases like securities fraud and murder-for-hire; and representing U.S. prosecutors at Guantanamo Bay hearings for September 11 suspects. He resides in Montgomery with his wife Tammy and daughter Faith.
