Biography
Steve Magie is a Democratic member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing District 56, which includes a portion of Faulkner County. He resides in Conway, Arkansas, and is an ophthalmologist and owner of Magie Smith Charton Eye Clinic with over 38 years of experience. Currently serving his 7th term , he holds positions on the House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee, the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, and the Joint Budget Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Morrilton High School; attended University of Central Arkansas and Louisiana State University; earned a medical degree from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Arkansas House in 2013; reelected in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023, serving continuously through the 95th General Assembly .
