Biography

Steve Frisbie is a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, serving District 44 since January 2025. Born on June 22, 1963, in Sturgis, he is a businessman, paramedic, and politician from Battle Creek. Married to Lorene, he has four children: Megan, Lindsey, Jared, and Daniel. Frisbie defeated Democratic incumbent Jim Haadsma in the November 2024 election by a narrow margin of 79 votes following a hand recount. His district includes Battle Creek, Springfield, Bedford Township, Pennfield Township, Convis Township, Lee Township, Clarence Township, Sheridan Township, and Albion. Notable positions include Vice Chair of the House Finance Committee, and membership on Transportation and Infrastructure, Energy, and Health Policy committees. He also helped launch the Michigan House Law Enforcement Caucus to support officers and public safety.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from The Robert B. Miller College ; Paramedic Certificate from Davenport College.
  • Professional Experience: 40 years as a paramedic and in ambulance service administration; Vice-President of LifeCare Ambulance in Pennfield Township; Volunteer firefighter for Pennfield Township and Colon Fire Departments; Adjunct professor at Kellogg Community College for 23 years.
  • Political Experience: Calhoun County Commissioner from 2011 for 13 years , serving as Vice Chairman and then Chairman from 2019 to 2023; Elected to Michigan House of Representatives in 2024 for District 44.
