Biography
Stephanie Simacek
Stephanie Simacek is an American politician and educator serving as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from the 2nd district. She is a mother of two daughters, Lilly and Kamila, and has built her career around education and community advocacy.
Originally from Ashland, Oregon, Simacek's path to politics began when she became a concerned parent observing school board decisions affecting her community. She served as a Deer Valley Unified School District governing board member, elected in 2022 and beginning service in 2023. Her entry into state politics was driven by her firsthand experience with educational policy and her commitment to serving Arizona families and educators.
Education
Simacek earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication from Portland State University in 2003. She later pursued graduate education after relocating to Arizona, receiving her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University in 2014.
Political Experience
Before entering the Arizona House of Representatives, Simacek worked as a teacher for the Deer Valley Unified School District, where she taught first grade. She transitioned to substitute teaching to support her youngest daughter's developmental needs while remaining connected to the classroom.
Her professional background also includes experience working in a law firm in Portland, Oregon, and a career in project management for a web development company. These varied roles shaped her desire to pursue work that would provide meaning and contribute to her community.
