Stephanie Gricius is a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 50 since January 2023. A longtime resident of Eagle Mountain, she has been deeply involved in public service from a young age through roles in city government and the Republican Party. She is actively engaged with youth in her church and focuses her efforts on non-profits benefiting children in foster care and women escaping domestic violence.

Political Experience

Gricius began her political involvement at the local level, serving as precinct chair in her District of the Utah County Republican Party from 2016 until 2021, when she was elected as the Legislative District Chair for Utah House District 2.

Since beginning her legislative service in 2023, she has assumed significant leadership roles within the House:

  • Vice-Chair of the Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee, overseeing the largest area of the state budget
  • Chair of the Administrative Rules Review and General Oversight Committee, responsible for ensuring proper implementation of laws and general government oversight
  • Chair of the Judiciary Interim Committee, overseeing judicial policy and activities
  • Member of the Health and Human Services Committee and Government Operations Committee
  • Member of the 2025 Legislative Redistricting Committee
  • House Majority Caucus Manager on the House Majority Leadership Team

Additionally, Gricius serves on the boards for the Utah Lake Authority and Indigent Defense Commission, and chairs the Sportsman's Caucus, Conservative Caucus, and Utah County Caucus.

Notable Achievements

Gricius has secured approximately 2.1 billion dollars in transportation funding for her district and has championed tax cuts and common sense legislation. A significant legislative achievement includes serving as House sponsor for SB188 in 2025, which required Alpine School District to bond for a new high school in Saratoga Springs serving the new Lake Mountain School District. The bill also simplified asset division between districts and ensured fair treatment for the new west district.
