Stephanie T. Bolden is a Democratic representative for District 2 in the Delaware House of Representatives, serving since 2010. Born on August 16, 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware, she is a lifelong resident who grew up on the east side of the city after her mother passed away young; she was raised by her father. Bolden has dedicated her career to public service, education, and advocacy for vulnerable populations, including seniors, youth, and foster children. Notable achievements include founding the Delaware Legislative Black Caucus, establishing the Burton-Phelan Memorial Scholarship Program , sponsoring annual Thanksgiving dinners for seniors in need, implementing Wilmington's City Wide Camera Watch Program to combat crime, and authoring HB 269 to provide credit reports for foster youth. She previously served five terms on Wilmington City Council , becoming the first woman elected President Pro Tempore, where she advanced legislation protecting domestic violence victims and empowering community associations. Current committee roles include Chair of Elections & Government Affairs and Gaming & Parimutuels, Vice-Chair of Appropriations, and memberships on Housing, Joint Finance, Labor, and Veterans Affairs.

Graduated from Howard High School in 1965. Earned a B.S. in Education from Delaware State University in 1969 and an M.Ed. in Urban Education from Boston College in 1973 . Spent over 35 years as a classroom teacher in public schools and higher education, emphasizing community involvement and excellence.
