Biography
Stacy Jo Adams is a Republican representative for Oklahoma's 50th District in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, serving since 2024. The district includes Jefferson and Stephens counties, with Duncan as a key area. Born in September 1974 on a US military base in Germany, she lived in Kansas, Texas, and Louisiana, accompanying her father, a 1st Sergeant, on multiple tours, including during Desert Storm. She owns Adams Insurance Agency in Duncan, founded in 2021 after prior roles at State Farm and Allstate . Married to Ricky for over 14 years, they have seven sons and attend Grand Assembly in Corum, where she teaches Sunday School. Notable achievements include authoring House Bill 3790 , providing a five-day cancellation period for storm repair contracts solicited at homes, passed by the House 82-4. She serves as Vice Chair of the Insurance Committee and on Appropriations and Budget Public Safety Subcommittee, Commerce and Economic Development Oversight, and General Government committees. Her priorities include supporting military, veterans, first responders, farmers, small businesses, oil and gas, lower taxes, law and order, and economic growth; she defends the sanctity of life.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended and graduated from Cameron University.
- Political Experience: Elected in 2024 to succeed Marcus McEntire, winning the Republican primary runoff against Andrew Aldridge with over 60% of the vote; endorsed by Governor Kevin Stitt. Sworn in November 20, 2024, for the 60th Legislature. Ran due to concerns over government overreach and transparency.
