Biography
Stacey Guerin is a Republican state senator representing District 4 in Maine, which covers municipalities in Penobscot County and all of Piscataquis County. A native of Kenduskeag and resident of Glenburn, she co-owns a food service supply and restaurant equipment company in Veazie with her husband, Joe; they have five sons and five grandchildren. She is an active community volunteer, serving on the board of directors for Hospitality Maine, as a director for Women in Government, as a Penobscot County Master Gardener, and as a former 4-H leader; she is also involved in her church.
Education and Political Experience
Guerin worked as a second-grade teacher at Eddington Elementary School, bringing educational experience to her legislative role. She began her legislative service in 2011, representing District 102 in the Maine House for four terms , where she was ranking member of the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and Judiciary committees. Elected to the Senate in 2018, she is currently in her fourth term . Her committee roles include current assignments on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and Bills in the Second Reading, past roles as Senate Republican Lead on Labor and Housing and Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement and Business, and previous service on Judiciary. She won re-election in 2024 against Democrat Richard Evans but is term-limited after her current term.
