Stacey Godfrey Evans is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 57 since her election in 2020 and swearing in on January 11, 2021. A native of Ringgold, Georgia, she is a first-generation college student, attorney, wife to Andrew , and mother of two children, Ashley and Jack. She previously represented District 42 from 2011 to 2017, served as Chair of the House Democratic Caucus in 2016, resigned to run for Governor in 2018 , and returned to the House after winning District 57 with 56.8% in the primary . Notable achievements include expanding HOPE Grant eligibility for technical college students, leading opposition to discriminatory "religious freedom" legislation in 2015, advocating for criminal justice reform and public education funding, founding S.G. Evans Law, LLC, and receiving awards like two Arnie awards, "Super Woman Award" , "Teach Your Children and Colleagues Award" , Georgia Trend’s “40 Under 40” , and Fulton County Daily Report’s “40 Under 40 Rising Stars in the Legal Community” .
