Biography
Spencer R. Igo is a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 7A in northern Minnesota, which includes Hibbing and parts of Aitkin, Itasca, and St. Louis Counties. Elected in 2020 and reelected in 2022, he is currently serving his third term as Assistant Republican Leader. Igo advocates strongly for northern Minnesota's mining and timber industries, criticizes state environmental reviews, and supports increased domestic oil production and mining to reduce foreign reliance. He describes himself as pro-labor and opposes right-to-work laws.
