Sonya Jaquez Lewis is a former American politician and licensed pharmacist from the Democratic Party. Born on May 4, 1957, in Charlotte, N.C., she resides in Lafayette, Colorado, and previously represented Colorado Senate District 17 and earlier House District 12 in Boulder County.

She served as a state representative from 2018 to 2020 and as a state senator from 2020 until her resignation on February 17, 2025, amid a Senate Ethics Committee investigation into staff mistreatment allegations. Lewis also acted as an at-large delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention from Colorado and from Colorado's 2nd congressional district in 2012 and 2016.

In 2025, she faced charges including attempt to influence a public servant and forgery for submitting fabricated letters during the ethics probe. She was convicted on all four felony counts on January 28, 2026, and sentenced on March 3, 2026, to two years probation, 150 hours community service, and a $3,000 fine .
