Soñia R. Galaviz is a Democratic member of the Idaho House of Representatives, representing District 16A. She assumed office on December 1, 2022, after being elected in November 2022. Born and raised in Idaho's Silver Valley region as the daughter of immigrants from Mexico, she currently works as a teacher at Garfield Elementary School in Boise. Galaviz is a parent, community volunteer, and advocate for Idaho's children. She serves on the House Committee on Education and the House Committee on Millennium Fund.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and EdD in curriculum and instruction from Boise State University in 2020.
• Political Experience: Elected to the Idaho House of Representatives for District 16A in 2022; first term began December 1, 2022. As a Democrat, she focuses on education and community issues.
