Biography
Richard "Skip" Daly is a Democratic State Senator representing Nevada Senate District 13, which covers parts of Northern Nevada including Sparks and surrounding areas in Washoe County. Born in 1959 in Reno, Nevada, he is a lifelong resident of the region, currently living in Sparks with his wife Lisa and two adult children, Sara and Brian. A former journeyman laborer and current Business Manager for Laborers Union Local 169, Daly has focused his career on advocating for working families, education, and labor rights.
Notable achievements include passing the largest K-12 education budget in Nevada history, fighting Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs, protecting renters from fees and gouging, safeguarding women's reproductive rights, and expanding worker protections during recent legislative sessions. He currently serves as a member of the Commerce and Labor, Government Affairs, and Legislative Operations and Elections Committees in the Nevada Senate .
