Biography
Senator Shevrin D. "Shev" Jones
Shevrin D. "Shev" Jones is a Democratic state senator representing Florida Senate District 34, which encompasses part of Miami-Dade County. Born in Miami Gardens, Florida, he is a teacher, nonprofit leader, and longtime public servant dedicated to community engagement. He identifies with a nondenominational Christian faith and enjoys running, reading, and spending time with family.
His father, Eric H. Jones, served as Mayor of West Park before retiring in November 2020.
Political Experience
Jones currently serves as Vice Chair of the Rules Committee and holds positions on numerous significant committees, including:

Education and Occupation
Jones served as a teacher and holds the position of National Director of Development at COOP Careers. His legislative priorities have included gas price relief advocacy and various education and social welfare initiatives. During the 2026 legislative cycle, he raised over $250,000 with no primary challengers for his seat.
