Biography
Sheryl M. Delozier is a Republican representing Pennsylvania's 88th Legislative District, which includes parts of Cumberland County such as Hampden Township, Lower Allen Township, Mechanicsburg, New Cumberland, and Shiremanstown. She is currently serving her ninth two-year term, first elected in 2008, and holds the position of House Republican Caucus Administrator for the 2023-24 and 2025-26 sessions, overseeing operations like printing, office assignments, and parking. Notable achievements include sponsoring the crime victims’ bill of rights under the Pennsylvania Constitution, earning “Government Leader of the Year” from the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC, and the Allegheny College “Prize for Civility in Public Life in Pennsylvania.” She serves on the House Rules Committee and boards including Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency , Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Highmark Caring Place, and County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: BA in Political Science from University of Delaware; Master's in Business Administration/Management from Pennsylvania State University; attended International Business studies at Open University of the Netherlands. Former adjunct professor of Business Administration at Lebanon Valley College.
- Political Experience: Worked in Pennsylvania Auditor General’s office; served on Gov. Tom Ridge’s transition team and as senior staff during Ridge and Schweiker administrations, implementing cost-cutting measures; director of Gov. Mark Schweiker’s Office of Public Liaison; adviser to a Public Utility Commission commissioner on water, transportation, and consumer issues. Elected to Pennsylvania House in 2009 term and reelected consecutively; member of Cumberland County Republican Committee; legislative priorities include business support, veterans, military families, domestic violence, and mental health awareness. Community involvement: honorary member of Boy Scouts of America New Birth of Freedom Council, Messiah University President’s Leadership Council, Mechanicsburg and West Shore Chamber of Commerce, Mechanicsburg Rotary, Bethany Village Board, New Cumberland Woman’s Club, and volunteer for Area M Special Olympics .
