Shay Shelnutt is a Republican member of the Alabama State Senate, representing District 17 . Born on September 21, 1967, in Birmingham, Alabama, he grew up in Pinson and has served as a state senator since 2014, winning elections in 2014, 2018, and 2022. He is a realtor with Keller Williams, a member of Palmerdale United Methodist Church, and married to Paige Harwell Shelnutt with two daughters, Lexie and Lacie.
