Biography
Shawn Still is a Republican state senator representing District 48 in the Georgia State Senate, which includes portions of Fulton, Forsyth, and Gwinnett counties, since 2022. A businessman born on October 2, 1972, in Jacksonville, Florida, he owns and serves as president of Olympic Pool Plastering & Shotcrete, the largest swimming pool subcontractor in the Southeastern US, employing over 100 Georgians in Gwinnett County; he also owns Endless River Adventures, a rafting company. He moved to Georgia in 1998, has lived in Johns Creek since before its inception, and is the father of three daughters. Notable achievements include being named Freshman Legislator of the Year in 2023 by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Greater Georgia, sponsoring or co-sponsoring 75 of 211 Senate bills signed into law in his first session, and receiving a perfect score from the Faith and Freedom Coalition. He previously served as finance chairman for the Georgia GOP, helping raise $48 million in 2020, and was the Republican nominee for Presidential Elector pledged to Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Still serves on Senate committees including Administrative Affairs, Education and Youth, Finance, Judiciary, and Transportation, and is ex-officio on Insurance and Labor and Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security.

- Education: Earned a B.A. in communications from the University of Alabama, where he was a multi-sport athlete in swimming and rugby.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Georgia Senate in 2022 after defeating Democrat Josh Uddin; sworn in January 9, 2023. Past president of the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, the youngest inducted as a Fellow. Key legislative efforts include advancing school choice, election integrity, and the largest tax cut in state history.
