Biography
Shannon Morris
William Shannon Morris, known as Shannon Morris, is a Republican member of the Delaware House of Representatives representing District 30. He was born and raised in Kent County, Delaware, and has lived in the 30th Representative District for more than 30 years. Morris resides on his family farm on Mud Mill Road along with his parents, sister, nephews, and niece.
Morris has been employed at Kent County Levy Court since 2001 and currently serves as the Chief Code Enforcement Officer. During his tenure, he has received the County's Perfect Attendance Award and was named Kent County's Employee of the Year.
Education
Morris is a 1993 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, where he was an active member of the FFA and DECA.
Political Experience
Morris was first elected to the Delaware House of Representatives in 2018, assuming office on November 7, 2018. He succeeded William Outten in representing the district, which includes the areas of Farmington, Felton, and Harrington.
As a state representative, Morris serves on eight standing House committees: Agriculture, Public Safety & Homeland Security, Corrections, Housing, Transportation, Technology & Telecommunications, Gaming & Parimutuels, and Veterans Affairs.
Beyond his legislative role, Morris holds several professional memberships and affiliations, including membership in the National Rifle Association , the Delaware State Sportsmen's Association , and the International Code Council . He serves as President of the Delaware Building Officials Association and is a member of Masonic Union Lodge #7 and the Grand Lodge of Delaware.
