Biography
Shane David Jett is a Republican state senator representing District 17 in the Oklahoma State Senate, which includes parts of Oklahoma and Pottawatomie counties. A fifth-generation Oklahoman and citizen of the Cherokee Nation, he was born on December 5, 1974, in Tecumseh, where he grew up working in his father's auto-repair shop. He is married to Ana Jett, and they have three daughters. Jett is a Constitutional Conservative known for authoring grocery sales tax relief legislation, opposing government mandates, and exposing corruption. Notable achievements include being the first Republican elected to his House seat and the first actual conservative Republican in Senate District 17 ; founding chair of the Oklahoma Freedom Caucus; top-ranked conservative legislator; U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer ; appointed to the U.S. Treasury by President Trump; former CEO of a financial institution focused on Native American businesses; small business owner in farming and ranching; speaks three languages; and youngest Gideon in the U.S. at age 21.
