Biography
Representative Shad Pearce
Shad Pearce is a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives serving the 40th District, which includes portions of Independence, Cleburne, and White Counties. He is currently serving his second term in the Arkansas House.
Pearce is a 27-year public servant with a background in law enforcement and entrepreneurship. He is married to Tammy and has two adult children, Taylor Cothern and Tye, as well as four grandchildren. He resides in Batesville, Arkansas.
Beyond his legislative role, Pearce serves as Captain of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's C-1 District, where he supervises a team of law enforcement officers covering six counties in north central Arkansas. He is also a board member of the Rockmore Water Department and owner of Pearce Rentals and Pearce Cattle Farming.
Education
Pearce earned a bachelor's degree in criminology from Arkansas State University.
Political Experience
Pearce began his career in law enforcement, having formerly worked for the Mountain View Police Department and the Independence County Sheriff's Office as a deputy. His political positions reflect his priorities: he advocates strongly for supporting law enforcement, supports Second Amendment rights, holds pro-life views, and supports parental choice in education.
In the Arkansas House, Pearce serves as House Vice Chair for the House Rules Committee. He also serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee. He maintains a seniority ranking of 86 in the legislature and is affiliated with the Baptist church.
