Biography
Seth Lewis is a Republican State Senator representing Illinois' 24th District in the west Chicago suburbs, including all or portions of Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, Naperville, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton, Winfield, and Wood Dale in DuPage and suburban Cook Counties. Elected to the Senate in November 2022, he was sworn in on January 2023 after serving two years in the Illinois House of Representatives. Notable achievements include passing Cal’s Law, which expands access to critical diagnostic testing for children with cancer, and creating the state's first Indian American Advisory Council. He resides in Bartlett with his wife Bhavna and has two adult sons.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Iowa.
- Professional Background: Served as trustee for the Bartlett Fire Protection District; former Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of operations for a manufacturing business in Melrose Park; current independent business owner and State Farm Insurance agent; coached youth baseball, football, and basketball; former Little League Board member and Board President.
- Political Experience: Illinois House of Representatives ; Illinois State Senate, 24th District , serving in the Senate Republican Caucus during the 103rd General Assembly.
