Biography
Seth Grove is a former Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 196 from 2009 to 2026. Elected in 2008, he served 17 years, advocating for streamlined government, election integrity, gun rights, educational choice, and transparency. Notable achievements include authoring the largest overhaul of Pennsylvania's 1937 election law in 2021, chairing the House State Government Committee , and serving as the first chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee. He resigned effective January 31, 2026, to join the private sector. Grove resides in Dover Township, York County, with his wife Dr. Kacey Grove, three children, and a Labrador retriever.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Spring Grove Area School District; B.A. in Public Administration from York College of Pennsylvania; master's degree in public financial management from the University of Kentucky.
- Political Experience: Before election, served as legislative assistant to U.S. Congressman Todd Platts and state Rep. Stan Saylor, and chief of staff to state Rep. Keith Gillespie. In the House, held chairmanships including House Appropriations, Labor and Industry, State Government , and Government Oversight; served on 13 standing committees; sponsored 16 bills into law. Community roles include APPRISE counselor, HACC York Campus Advisory Committee member, Dover Lions Club, Dover Fish and Game Association, NRA life member, and Dover/York YMCA.
