Biography
Sergio Muñoz, Jr. is a Democrat representing Texas House District 36, which includes parts of Hidalgo County such as Palmview, Mission, McAllen, Pharr, and surrounding areas. First elected in March 2010, he serves as an attorney and advocate for education, healthcare, infrastructure, economic development, and public safety in South Texas. Notable achievements include awards from Advocates for Patient Access, Boys and Girls Club Texas Alliance, Alliance of Independent Pharmacists, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection RGV Sector for his community leadership.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Mission High School; earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin; obtained a J.D. with honors from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
