Selena La Rue Hatch

Selena La Rue Hatch was born in Reno in 1989 as a fourth-generation Nevadan. She grew up on a cattle ranch near Pyramid Lake. She is currently married to Stephen and has a daughter named Abigail, along with two dogs. She resides in Northwest Reno.

Education

Hatch earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from Boston University. After returning to Nevada, she pursued further education at the University of Nevada, where she earned her teaching credential and Master of Education degree.

Political Experience

Hatch was first elected to the Nevada State Assembly representing District 25 in 2022. She has served in the Nevada Legislature for one regular and two special sessions.

During her first regular legislative session, she sponsored bills focused on improving learning and working conditions in Nevada schools, addressing climate change, and protecting the basic rights of all Nevadans.

Before her election, Hatch worked as a classroom teacher for nearly a decade in the Washoe County School District, teaching at Hug High School and later at North Valleys High School. She also serves as a union leader and has been a fierce advocate for her community. Throughout her career, she has prioritized education as a means of social change and has worked to ensure that constituents are heard in the halls of power.
