Sean Kean

Sean T. Kean is a Republican politician who has represented the 30th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2012.

Sean Thomas Kean was born on May 21, 1963, in Montclair, New Jersey. He is a Roman Catholic and resides in Wall, New Jersey. Beyond his legislative work, Kean maintains a career in law, specializing in municipal law, employment law, workers' compensation, and municipal prosecution. He serves as a partner at Cleary, Giacobbe, Alfieri, Jacobs, LLC and as Township Attorney for Wall Township in Monmouth County. He also serves as general counsel to the Lakewood Development Corporation and the Lakewood Industrial Commission.

Kean is active in his community, serving as a member of the Jersey Shore Running Club, the Republican Monmouth County Committee, and the Monmouth County Bar Association Local Government Law Committee. He is the Monmouth County Coordinator for Republicans for Environmental Protection.

Political Experience

Kean has maintained a consistent presence in New Jersey politics since 2002. His legislative career includes:

• New Jersey General Assembly : Initially elected to represent the 11th Legislative District in 2002 and re-elected in 2003 and 2005. Following redistricting in 2011, he was elected to represent the 30th Legislative District, where he continues to serve.
• New Jersey State Senate : Represented the 11th Legislative District as a state senator.
• Assistant Republican Whip : Held this leadership position in the General Assembly.

Currently, Kean serves on the Regulated Professions Committee and the New Jersey Legislative Services Commission.
