Biography
Scott Webster is a Republican state senator representing District 47 in the Iowa Senate, assuming office on January 9, 2023. Born in 1980 in Davenport, Iowa, he was raised in Davenport and Bettendorf, where he currently resides with his wife, Brenda, and two daughters, Abby and Ella. A home builder by profession, he owns Premier Custom Homes, Webster Properties, and Quad City Disposal. Before entering the Senate, he served eight years on the Bettendorf City Council as the fifth ward alderman, elected in a 2014 special election. He previously ran unsuccessfully for the Scott County Board of Supervisors in 2018 and served on the Iowa League of Cities Legislative Policy Committee starting in 2019. Notable community involvement includes past presidencies of the Iowa Homebuilders Association and Quad City Builders and Remodelers Association, as well as service on the Bettendorf 4th of July Committee, Student Trades Committee, and Family Museum strategic plan committee. In the Senate, he chairs the Local Government Committee, vice-chairs Transportation, and serves on Commerce, Judiciary, and State Government committees.
