Biography
Scott Rosenzweig was born in 1963 in Tucson, Arizona. His professional career includes work as a business executive, employer, and entrepreneur. He has been affiliated with several organizations, including Bridgercare, Bozeman Running Company, Scaling Montana, and Frontier Fund II. Rosenzweig serves as a member of the Montana House of Representatives representing District 57. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is scheduled to end on January 4, 2027.
Education
Rosenzweig earned a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in 1985. He subsequently obtained a graduate degree from Cornell University in 1991.
Political Experience
A member of the Democratic Party, Rosenzweig was elected to the Montana House of Representatives from the 57th district in the 2024 election. On November 5, 2024, he defeated incumbent Marty Malone in the general election. Rosenzweig received 3,802 votes while Malone received 3,785 votes . This contest was the closest race in the Montana State House of Representatives in 2024 and was the only one to undergo a recount. Following the recount, the margin of victory shrunk from 20 votes to 17 votes in Rosenzweig's favor.
For the 2025-2026 legislative session, Rosenzweig was assigned to the Appropriations Committee. He has declared candidacy for the Montana State Senate to represent District 29 in the Democratic primary scheduled for June 2, 2026. He will not appear on the ballot for re-election to the Montana House of Representatives in 2026.
