Scott Oelslager is a Republican representing Ohio's 48th House District, which includes portions of Stark County. Born on October 15, 1953, in Warren, Pennsylvania, he resides in North Canton with his wife, Elsie. He has a long legislative career, serving multiple terms in both the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate, including current service in the House since 2019 .
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a B.A. in History from Mount Union College and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School.
- Early Career: Worked as an aide to former U.S. Congressman Ralph Regula and as director of public relations for Malone College.
- Political Experience:
- Appointed to the Ohio Senate in 1985, followed by four additional terms .
- Elected to the Ohio House in 2002, serving until 2010; chaired the Judiciary Committee and Civil and Commercial Law Committee.
