Biography
Scott E. Hutchinson is a Republican serving as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for District 21 since 2013, representing parts of Butler, Clarion, Erie, Forest, Venango, and Warren Counties. He was re-elected to his fourth term in November 2024. Married to Mary Beth, he resides in Oil City and has three children: Mary, Marie, and Lucy.
Notable achievements include sponsoring Act 52 of 2016, which established the Pennsylvania Grade Crude Development Advisory Council to promote the conventional oil and gas industry. He currently serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Local Government Commission, Vice Chairman of the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, and a member of the Game and Fisheries, Health and Human Services, and Local Government committees. Previously, he chaired the Senate Local Government Committee and was Republican chairman of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance ; attended University of Pittsburgh at Titusville and Thiel College.
