Biography

Scott Holcomb is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 101 . A U.S. Army veteran, attorney, and former prosecutor, he has served since 2011, currently in his fourth term, and was Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus. Notable achievements include passing legislation authorizing benefit corporations in Georgia , enabling domestic violence victims to break leases without penalties , addressing the backlog of untested sexual assault kits and preserving evidence longer , compensating the wrongfully convicted , and advocating for Medicaid expansion, juvenile justice reform, veterans' issues, education, and port deepening. Post-military, he practiced litigation at a major Atlanta firm before co-founding Holcomb + Ward, LLP. He offers pro bono services to veterans, is involved with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served as a part-time instructor at Georgia Tech's Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Additional roles include member of the Council on Foreign Relations and State Bar of Georgia committees on military legal assistance and suicide prevention. Married to Kathleen.
