H. Scott Conklin is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives representing the 77th district, which includes parts of Centre County such as the townships of Ferguson, Halfmoon, Huston, Patton, Rush, Taylor, and Worth, and the boroughs of Philipsburg, Port Matilda, and part of State College. First elected in 2006 and serving since 2007, he previously served as Centre County Commissioner from 1999 to 2006, where he acted as board chairman and led initiatives that earned the county its highest financial rating in history. A resident of Rush Township, he has been married to his wife, Terri, since 1984, and they have one son, Spencer. Prior to politics, he owned a carpentry business from 1989 to 2007 and now owns Conklin’s Corner Antique Mall. Notable campaigns include an unsuccessful 2010 run for Lieutenant Governor , a 2001 special election for Pennsylvania's 9th congressional district, and a 2020 bid for Auditor General . Currently, he serves as Majority Chairman of the House Commerce Committee and Treasurer of the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee , focusing on working families, women’s rights, voter access, and equitable treatment.
