Biography
Scott T. Bottoms is a Republican state representative for Colorado House District 15, covering eastern Colorado Springs, Cimarron Hills, and areas near Schriever Air Force Base in El Paso County. A U.S. Navy veteran, lead pastor at Church at Briargate, and one of the most conservative members of the Colorado legislature, he was first elected in 2022, defeating his opponents with 56.76% of the vote, and won re-election in 2024 with 57.99%. Notable positions include service on the Appropriations and State, Civic, Military and Veterans Affairs committees; he announced his candidacy for the 2026 Colorado gubernatorial election on January 20, 2025.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, a Master of Arts in Intercultural Leadership from Denver Seminary , and a Doctor of Ministry in Intercultural Spiritual Leadership from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Licensed and ordained through the Assemblies of God.
- Political Experience: Elected to Colorado House District 15 in November 2022; re-elected unopposed in the 2024 Republican primary and won the general election. Previously in pastoral ministry for over 30 years; married to Linda for 34 years with three children and three grandchildren; resident of Colorado Springs for nearly 13 years.
