Biography
Savet Constantine
Savet Constantine is a Democratic state representative serving Connecticut's 42nd District, which includes Wilton and parts of New Canaan and Ridgefield. She assumed office on January 8, 2025, and is currently in her first term, which ends in 2027.
Constantine is a community leader and former marketing executive who has deep roots in her district. She has been a Wilton resident since 2004 with her husband Craig and their two children. She was raised in Minnesota and brings a wealth of volunteer experience from her involvement with Wilton Public Schools, where she served as Wilton High School PTSA President and Middlebrook PTA President . Through these roles, she informed the community about budget initiatives and fostered communication between parents and school administration.
In her volunteer work with the Wilton Democratic Town Committee, Constantine served as Nominations Chair and led town-wide outreach efforts to identify qualified residents for service on various boards and commissions.
Education
Constantine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University. Her educational background reflects her commitment to public policy and international affairs.
Political Experience and Priorities
In the Connecticut House of Representatives, Constantine serves as Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee and is a member of the Energy & Technology and Education Committees.
Her legislative priorities include ensuring excellence and safety in schools, protecting women's reproductive freedom, enhancing services for seniors, fostering economic growth, making Connecticut more affordable, boosting business opportunities, and cutting taxes. Constantine is known for finding bipartisan solutions that benefit her local communities.
