Biography
Saudia LaMont is a Democratic representative in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving the Lamoille-Washington district. She resides in Morrisville , where she works as a mother, organizer, advocate, facilitator, equity consultant, and writer committed to uplifting communities through transformative justice.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of People's Academy; completed Cornell University’s Diversity and Inclusion program, Leadership Lamoille, Bright Leadership Institute, Recovery Coach Academy, and various certifications in youth development and equity work.
- Political Experience: Elected as a state representative for Lamoille-Washington ; serves on committees including Lamoille County Mental Health and LSUU School Board Equity Committee.
Notable Achievements and Positions
LaMont is a former early childhood educator and founder of the youth program “Developing D.I.I.V.A.S.” , with training in Prevent Child Abuse VT curricula. As a public speaker and workshop presenter, she focuses on racial justice, health equity, housing access, survivor recovery, and community restoration. Parent to two students in her local school district, she brings deep community involvement to her legislative role.
