Biography
Senator Sarah Keyeski
Sarah Keyeski is a Democratic State Senator representing Wisconsin's 14th Senate District, located in south-central Wisconsin. The district includes all of Richland and Sauk counties and parts of Adams, Columbia, Dane, Juneau, and Vernon counties.
Before her election to the State Senate in 2024, Keyeski was a political newcomer who had worked as a mental health counselor for nearly 25 years. She is also a concerned parent of six children and a farmer's daughter. In 2021, she founded Lift Lodi, a community nonprofit organization, which she served as executive director. Additionally, she has been active as a Girl Scout leader in her community.
Education
Keyeski earned her bachelor's degree from Luther College in Iowa and a master's degree in psychology from Northwestern University in Illinois.
Political Experience
Keyeski was initially planning to run for the State Assembly before Governor Evers signed new electoral maps into law. She then decided to run for the 14th Senate District seat instead. In the 2024 election, she defeated incumbent Republican Joan Ballweg in a district that was considered lean Democrat with a projected margin of 5 points.
As State Senator, Keyeski currently serves as a member of the Council on Domestic Abuse and the Council on Tourism.
