Biography
Sara T. Hannan is a Democrat representing Alaska House District 4, which includes Downtown Juneau, Lemon Creek, Douglas Island, Skagway, Haines, Klukwan, Gustavus, and Excursion Inlet. A lifelong Alaskan resident since 1962, she has lived in Juneau since 1986 and previously in Anchorage , Fairbanks , and Sitka . She is married to Mark Stopha, and together they co-owned Alaska Wild Salmon from 2001 to 2019. Hannan has served as Alaska State Representative for District 4 since 2019, winning re-election in 2024 with 96.6% of the vote. Notable achievements include her three decades in education, community volunteering for women, the less fortunate, and the environment, and priorities like education, jobs, and safe communities amid state budget challenges.
