Biography
Senator Sandy Crawford is a Republican representing District 28 in the Missouri Senate, which includes Benton, Cedar, Dallas, Henry, Hickory, Pettis, Polk, St. Clair, and Vernon counties. A lifelong resident of Dallas County near Buffalo, she was first elected to the Senate in August 2017 and currently serves as Majority Caucus Secretary. She and her husband, John, raise beef cattle; she is a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and involved in groups like Dallas County Cattlemen, NRA, Farm Bureau, and the advisory board for Dallas County Technical Center.
Notable achievements include the 2025 Missouri State University Government Excellence Award for her public service and support of higher education, such as securing funding for university projects and advancing PhD authorization legislation; the 2025 Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Champion award; and the 2011 Freshman Legislator of the Year for Banking Issues. She has held leadership roles like Chair of the Insurance and Banking Committee, Chair of the Local Government and Elections Committee , and Majority Caucus Whip .
