Biography

Sam Jones is a Democratic member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 99 since 2018. He made history as the first African-American mayor of Mobile, serving from 2005 to 2013, and previously served four terms as Mobile County Commissioner. Notable achievements include founding the Mobile County Community Development Partnership and Prichard Federal Credit Union, serving nine years in the U.S. Navy , and current roles such as Ranking Minority Member of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, member of the County and Municipal Government Committee, Alabama Port Authority Board, and University of South Alabama Board of Trustees.
