Sam Givhan is a Republican member of the Alabama State Senate, representing District 7 since his election in 2018. Born on February 23, 1967, he is a seventh-generation Alabama farmer, business owner, and real estate attorney with 28 years of experience in Huntsville, contributing to major economic development projects that brought jobs to the area. Notable achievements include serving as Chairman of the Madison County Local Legislation Committee and Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, along with memberships on committees such as Finance and Taxation General Fund, Healthcare, Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Safety. He previously chaired the Madison County Republican Party and served as Senior Vice Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party . Givhan is married to Heather since 1992, with six adult children, and they attend Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville.
