Biography
Ryan Williams is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing District 42 since January 2011. Born on June 1, 1974, he is married with two children and is Baptist. Prior to politics, he worked in construction and business development at J&S Construction. Notable achievements include serving as Republican Caucus Chairman since 2016, Chairman of the Finance, Ways, and Means Subcommittee, and roles on committees such as Appropriations Subcommittee, Finance, Ways, and Means Committee, Health Committee, Health Subcommittee, and Select Committee on Rules. He supported the 2023 expulsion of three Democratic lawmakers for decorum violations and cosponsored a 2024 resolution with Senator Paul Bailey allowing Tennessee localities to arm public school teachers, which passed.
