Biography
Representative Ryan Spaude
Ryan Spaude is a Democratic state representative from Wisconsin who represents the 89th Assembly District, which includes the west side of Green Bay and Ashwaubenon. Born in Green Bay in March 1994, he is the fifth generation of his family to live in northeast Wisconsin. He grew up in Little Suamico and was raised by his father Scott, a welder, and his mother Amy, a dental hygienist. Spaude attended public school through grade 12 and is a resident of Ashwaubenon.
Education
Spaude graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 2012. He earned his bachelor's degree from Princeton University in 2016, after which he worked in the Washington D.C. area for several years before returning to Wisconsin. He completed his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Political Experience
Spaude served as a prosecutor in the Brown County District Attorney's Office from 2022 to 2024, where he focused on prosecuting drunk drivers and protecting community safety. He was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly on November 5, 2024, flipping his district from Republican to Democratic control in a closely contested race.
As a state representative, he serves on the Criminal Justice & Public Safety Committee and the Tourism Committee. His legislative priorities include keeping more money in the pockets of working families, enhancing public safety, funding public education, and providing economic relief for working families.
