Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith was born on February 23, 1973, in Gallipolis, Ohio, where he currently resides. He is a member of the Republican Party and served in the Ohio House of Representatives. Smith is married to Vicki and has four children. He is active in his community and faith, being a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Education

Smith earned his B.S. in Finance from Ohio State University in 1995. He also attended Gallia Academy High School.

Political Experience

Smith served as a State Representative in the Ohio House and held the position of Speaker of the House in 2018. Beyond his legislative role, he has been deeply involved in community leadership, including service as a former president of the Gallipolis City School Board of Education, past president of the Gallia County Chamber of Commerce, and past president of the Gallia County Community Improvement Corporation. He also served as a board member for the Holzer Consolidated Health System.
