Ryan Anthony Guillen is a Republican Texas State Representative for House District 31, representing counties including Starr, Wilson, Karnes, Duval, Brooks, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, La Salle, Live Oak, McMullen, and Zapata. A sixth-generation South Texan from a family of public school teachers, war veterans, and cattle ranchers, he grew up working at the family feed store and as a ranch hand; he switched from the Democratic Party to Republican in 2021, bolstering the GOP majority in the Texas House.
