Biography
Ryan A. Bizzarro is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 3rd Legislative District in Erie County, including the townships of Millcreek and Fairview, since January 2013. A lifelong Erie County resident, he survived childhood leukemia and developed a strong work ethic working at his grandfather’s restaurant, The Ringside. Bizzarro is an award-winning legislator currently serving in House Democratic Leadership as the House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman , overseeing subcommittees on Progressive Policies for Working People and Labor, Energy, and Development. Notable achievements include securing over $92 million in state investments for local causes like law enforcement, firefighters, seniors, veterans, and nonprofits during the 2023-24 session; sponsoring legislation creating a public-private partnership for driver's license services; and leading a 2023 statewide school funding tour. He ran unsuccessfully for Pennsylvania State Treasurer in the 2024 Democratic primary. Bizzarro advocates for working people, labor unions, veterans, seniors, voting rights, first-time homebuyers, and first responders.

- Education: AA in Criminal Justice and BA in Political Science from Edinboro University ; Master's degree in Public Administration from Gannon University.
- Early Career: Victim/witness coordinator and advocate for Erie County District Attorney's Office and Crime Victim Center; behavioral health specialist at Erie Public Schools; sales and business development for Erie County Convention Center Authority.
- Political Roles: Elected in 2012 defeating Republican Jason Owen; House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman ; former Chief Deputy House Whip, Vice Chairman of Northwest Delegation and House Democratic Policy Committee, Democratic Secretary of Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee; current member of House Rules Committee, Climate Change Advisory Committee, and Pennsylvania Grade Crude Development Advisory Council; former member of Consumer Affairs, Insurance, Judiciary, and Veterans Affairs committees.
- Community Involvement: Board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Pennsylvania; former co-chair of Civic Engagement Committee for Young Erie Professionals; member of Erie County Convention Center Authority; Vice Chairman of Erie County Democratic Party .
