Biography

Russ Ingalls is a Republican state senator representing the Essex District in the Vermont Senate . Born in Japan in 1964, he is the second of four boys and was raised traveling the world due to his father's career in the U.S. Navy. The family settled in Irasburg, Vermont, upon his father's retirement, where he attended 8th grade and graduated from Lake Region Union High School in 1983.

A successful real estate professional, Ingalls is a top producer at RE/MAX All Seasons Realty, which he co-founded with partners after working on a dairy farm post-high school and later in his father's dairy supply business in Irasburg. He previously served two terms on the Irasburg selectboard before moving to Newport. Elected to the Vermont Senate in 2019 , he prioritizes putting constituents first. Known as one of the Senate's most conservative voices, he chairs the Senate Committee on Institutions, serves as clerk of the Senate Committee on Transportation, and holds roles on committees including Canvassing, Access Board, and Special Committee on State House Improvements. In 2025, he purchased a group of radio stations in the area, now featuring Fox News programming.
