Biography

Rosaura “Rosy” Bagolie is a Democratic Assemblywoman representing New Jersey Legislative District 27 . Born June 14, 1980, in the Dominican Republic, she is a Jewish-Latina immigrant who moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey, at age seven with her family, which faced poverty and language barriers. A dedicated advocate for women's rights, working families, education, and underserved communities, she serves as Deputy Parliamentarian and sits on the Education, Financial Institutions and Insurance, and Commerce & Economic Development committees. Notable achievements include introducing or co-sponsoring over 200 bills in her first year, such as the Cancer Patient Care and Compassion Act and the NJ Household Water Assistance Program. She resides in Livingston with her husband, attorney Ricky Bagolie, and their three sons, and is a member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun.
