Biography
Rosemary Maula Brown is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate representing District 40, which includes Lackawanna, Monroe, and Wayne counties. Elected to the Senate in November 2022, she previously served six terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 189th District from 2011 to 2022. Known as an accessible, hard-working, common-sense problem-solver, she has enacted bipartisan laws addressing opioid overprescription, financial literacy in schools, protections for private community residents, free tick testing, distracted driving reduction, and more. In 2024, she secured over $38 million in state grants for her district and founded/co-chairs the Senate’s Mental Health Caucus. She serves as Chair of the Community, Economic & Recreational Development Committee, Vice Chair of Local Government, and holds positions on Appropriations, Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure, Judiciary, Labor & Industry, and Transportation committees. She is also on the Governor’s Commission on Women, Gino Merli Veterans Advisory Commission, and Local Government Commission. Married to Joseph since 1994, they have three children: Kennedy, Carter, and Reagan, and she is a member of St. John’s Parish in East Stroudsburg.
