Rose Martinez is a Filipino-born American politician and Democrat who served as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives for District 40 from 2022 to 2024. Born on June 22, 1958, in Bayaoas, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines, she moved to Hawaii in the 1980s and resides in Ewa Beach. She is married to Flor Martinez, a radio host, and they have one child, Tristan. Professionally, she worked as an educator, drug prevention counselor, clinical laboratory scientist, school teacher, and in various leadership roles including Executive Director of Kupuna and Keiki Services of Hawaii and Director of Program Services at Manawa Lea Health Services. Notable positions during her tenure included Vice Chair of the Culture, Arts, and International Affairs Committee, and member of the Education, Higher Education and Technology, and Labor and Government Operations Committees. She lost re-election in 2024 to Republican Julie Reyes Oda and is currently a candidate for Hawaii State Senate District 20 in the 2026 election.
